Why Australia is much more than beaches
Because Bondi is not all we have to offer.
Mountains
From the Blue Mountains to the Great Dividing Range to the Finders Range to the Australian Alps our mountains are beautiful and breathtaking. Want us to go on about them, because we could. Nobody does hiking like an Aussie, and no place is better to hike than our beautiful mountains. Bet you thought we didn’t get snow here. Think again.
Rainforests
Our rainforests are on the World Heritage list. They are all over the country and have plants that date back to the dinosaurs. From Queensland’s Daintree Rainforest to Tasmania’s natural wilderness to Kakadu National Park, our rainforests offer the biodiversity your country is lacking.
Deserts
Hello, 18 per cent of our country is desert. We’re talking red, dusty views forever. Take a look at Uluru (and walk around all of the awesome attractions in Alice Springs) and tell us our deserts aren’t impressive.
Lakes
So, we have a Pink Lake. It’s called Pink Lake (ok we didn’t really try on that one, but still it’s one cool lake). Seriously, it’s like liquid cotton candy. Does your country have that? Thought not.
People
Ugh bordering on overly-sentimental, but a country really is no more than its people. We’ve got some of the best, and we wouldn’t trade our time with them for anything. It doesn’t matter if we’re lounging on the beach, or exploring the rest of our natural wonders, as long as our mates are there, we’re happy. So come, be merry, and find friendships that will last a lifetime in Australia.
